Our carrier is constructed of powder coated stainless and you're gonna have reflector tape on both sides to help increase your visibility. Along the sides, you actually have nice tubular steel that's gonna give you solid tie-down points for your ratchet straps and bungee cords. And at the bottom you have this mesh floor and what that's gonna do for you is help contain those smaller, more fine items. more

How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Flint Hill Goods Aluminum Cargo Basket on the back of our 2023 Kia Sportage. What a cargo basket is gonna do for you, especially in a vehicle that's more like one of these compact SUVs, it's gonna allow you to get an increase on your capacity for cargo. You can have a space for those bigger, bulkier items or those heavier dirty items that you just don't want to get in the interior of your vehicle. Our carrier is constructed of extruded aluminum, which is gonna give you a lot more stability as far as the pressures of being on the road and holding your gear. On the back here, you can see that you have two additional reflectors that are gonna help you keep your visibility up and a nice solid post along the sides to tie down if you have any things like ratchet straps or bungee cords. The bottom of your tray is pretty open, so if you have some smaller, finer items, you may want to use a cargo bag or look for an option that has more of a mesh bottom to it. more

When you have a compact SUV like the Kia Sportage, this is a great way to make it work for getting those bigger, bulkier items or even possibly dirty items that you don't want getting your nice vehicle all filthy. Taking a closer look at the construction, we have a powder coated stainless steel with a gloss finish that's gonna hold up against corrosion and just the elements of being out on the road. Another cool feature is the fact that you have welded on brackets if you wanted to add additional taillights for higher visibility. Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2017 Kia Sportage- Video
Today on our 2017 KIA Sportage we're doing a test fit of the Curt 20x48 Cargo Carrier. That part number is C18110. Now this is designed to work with both inch and a quarter and two inch hitches and has a weight capacity of 300 pounds. It is a pretty light weight carrier so it's easy to insert and take out of your hitch. We're going to start off here with it inserted taking a few measurements. First is going to be ground clearance. MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2008 Kia Sportage- Video
Today on this 2008 Kia Sportage, we're going to be test fitting the 48 X 21 Max Tow Cargo Carrier, Part #MT70422. This has a 500 pound carrying capacity, but it's made of a very strong and sturdy aluminum material. It also has these points here, which can be used as tie down points for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords, whatever you use to tie down your gear. Next, we're going to go ahead and give you some measurements. The first is going to be how much distance is added to the vehicle once the cargo carrier is installed. I'm going to go ahead and measure from the bumper, since that's the furthest point out. To this edge here, we're about 23 1/2 inches. For our ground clearance, we're about here, it's about 10 1/2 inches. more

Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2008 Kia Sportage- Video
Today on this 2008 Kia Sportage, we're going to be test fitting the 23 by 60 Stromberg Carlson cargo carrier, part number CC-100. This cargo carrier has a weight capacity of 500 pounds. It also has this nice mesh floor here, which makes it easier to clear. Around the border of the cargo carrier, we have these tie down points that you can use for either your ratchet straps, or your bungee cords, whatever you use to tie down your gear. Also, if you're going to be blocking off the actual license plate, there are temporary license plate mounts here at the front that you can buy separately. It has a nice mesh floor which is going to make it a lot easier to clean, and around the border of the cargo carrier we have these points which can be used as tie down points for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords, whatever you use to tighten down your gear. Next, I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements, the first being how much distance is added to the vehicle once the cargo carrier is installed. I'm going to go ahead and measure from the bumper to this edge here. It's about 22-1/2 inches. For our ground clearance to the end of this bolt here, it's about 13-1/2 inches. The closest point at this edge here is about 4 inches. more

MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sportage- Video
Today in our 2015 Kia Sportage, we got out the Maxx Tow 21x48 Aluminum Cargo Carrier. This cargo carrier is designed to carry up to 500 pounds, works for 2 inch hitches. Part number is MT70422. As you can see this aluminum carrier offers a slack style floor, so we've got nice large areas for dirt and debris and stuff like that to fall down and out. Raised edge around the outside is going to be about 2 inches high, this is going to give us good support for gear front to back, side to side. We've also got 4 pre-drilled connection points over at each corner for stretch, so we can get everything nice and secure. Now overall our carrier is going to take up about 5 1/2 inches. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sportage- Video
Today, on our 2015 Kia Sportage, we've gotten out the Curt 20 by 60 Folding Cargo Carrier. We're going to test fit it. This cargo carrier has been designed to carry up to 500-lbs and it's also for use with 2" hitches. Part number on it is C18151. Now, this carrier offers a medium-sized expanded steel so we're going to get good support for our gear, but also we're going to have plenty of areas for that dirt and debris to fall down and out. As you can see, our raised edge is about 5-1/2" high. That's going to give us good support for our load, front and back, sided to side. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sportage C18150- Video
Today on our 2015 Kia Sportage we've got the Curt 20x60 Cargo Carrier. We're just fitting it to see how it goes on the back of the vehicle here. Now, this carrier is designed for use with 2 inch hitches and it will support up to 500 pounds. Part number is C18150. The thing I like about the Curt is the size of the expanded steel here. We've got plenty of room for dirt and debris to fall down and out, but we're not going to have to worry about those smaller items slipping through either. The raised edge all the way around the outside is going to be about 5.5 inches high, gives us good support for our load, and its also going to offer us some good connection points so we can get everything strapped down once we do have it loaded up. more

Rola Dart Folding Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Kia Sportage- Video
Today on our 2013 Kia Sportage, well be test fitting the 23x56 Rola Dart Cargo Carrier for 2 inch hitches, part number 59550. To begin our test fit, well slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up the pin hole and thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tightening it with a wrench. Now well go over a few clearance of measurements. We have about 10-1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of our carrier to the rear of our Sportage is about 2-1/2 inches. Weve added 11 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. more

Today on our 2013 Kia Sportage, we'll be test fitting the Max Tow Cargo Carrier for 2" hitches, part #MT70107. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch and securing it with the pin and clip. Now we'llgo ahead and go over some clearance measurements to see how to the two fit together. At the rear of the carrier, we have about 10-1/2" of ground clearance. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Sportage is about 2" away, and wehavea total of about 21-1/2" to the overall length of our vehicle. Now the exhaust does exit on the passenger side about 10-1/2" away from the platform of our carrier and the cargo door does break over the surface of our carrier at about 18". Therefore, you can carry deer up to about 18" high and still have full access to the rear hatch. That will complete today's test fit for the Max Tow Cargo Carrier, part #MT70107 on our 2013 Kia Sportage. more

Today on our 2013 Kia Sportage, we'll be test fitting the Curt aluminum cargo carrier, part number C18100. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch and securing it with a pin and clip. Now that the carrier is secured we'll go over a couple clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about nine inches of ground clearance with the platform folded up. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Sportage is about a quarter of an inch away. I would use caution when carrying the cargo carrier in its folded up position as there is some rattle when using a normal pin and clip. more

With the Cargo Carrier secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 10-1/2" of ground clearance at the rear of the Cargo Carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Sportageis about 1" away, and we've added about 20-1/2" to the overall length of our vehicle. Now the exhaust on this particular vehicle does exit on the passenger side about 9-1/2" away from the base of our Cargo Carrier. Now the cargo door does break over the surface of our carrier at about 18". more

Now, the vehicle's exhaust does exit on the passenger's side, about 10 inches away, and the cargo door does break over the surface of the carrier at about 17 inches. That will complete today's test fit for the Surco Cargo Carrier, part number 52018, on our 2013 Kia Sportage. . more
